Artist: Pauline Nampijinpa Singleton

Story:

This painting shows the Yam and Bush Tomato Dreamings. You can see the Yams and the small round berries of the Bush Tomatoes. The place associated with this Dreaming is west of Yuendumu. In the Dreamtime the people used to eat these fruits and vegetables, just as our old people lived off them. What I have painted here is the Dreamtime Yams and Bush Tomatoes. I painted them here for the children to see.

This traditional Kashmiri handicraft vitally supplements an often fluctuating rural income. Wool is custom dyed to match the original artist's image and hand stitched onto a cotton base. Each cushion is backed with natural coloured cotton canvas, and closes with a zip.

Size:                     30 x 40 cm

Each cushion is backed with natural coloured cotton canvas, and closes with a zip. Royalties are paid to the artists for sales of this product.

Please note this cushion contains an insert by Innergreen's line of recycled PET cushion inserts filled with 100% PET fibre, which is derived from recycled water bottles. They look and feel similar to a high-grade polyester cushion insert, but have a greater resilience rating and will last for much longer. For every 1kg of fibre used, we can save more than 70 water bottles from landfill.
