Special Features

Presenting a distinctively Australian Aboriginal art design by respected North Queensland artist, Justin Butler, this beautifully handmade silk scarf exemplifies Mainie’s “Luxurious, Authentic, Unique” trademark.

The original artwork illustrates how traditional knowledge is preserved by Aboriginal people and handed down from generation to generation.  In this artwork, the artist has depicted how the rainforest indicates when to harvest different foods.  The Tamarind (Tuckeroo) is a “calendar” tree.  When it flowers and bears fruit, the Aboriginal people know it is the time to dig for the scrub turkey eggs.

The artist is a descendant of the Kalkadoon desert people (North West Queensland) and the Bandjin rainforest people (Far North Queensland).

This exquisite wearable art piece is presented in a handmade gift box with the artwork provenance and the Aboriginal artist’s biography.
